TL;DR
This policy explains how BriefDeck handles your information. We collect the absolute minimum data necessary for the app to function. Your personal data (Name, Calendar, Reminders) never leaves your device. You can opt-out of anonymous analytics anytime in the app settings.
1. Introduction
BriefDeck is built by an indie developer committed to your privacy. This policy explains how we handle information when you use the BriefDeck mobile application ("App").
2. Information We Collect
We do not collect any Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
- Automatic Technical Data: We collect anonymous information about your device model and operating system version to ensure compatibility.
- Crash Reporting & Usage: We collect anonymous data related to app crashes and feature engagement to help squash bugs and improve the experience.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To Improve the App: Understanding which features are used helps us prioritize what to build next.
- For Stability: Crash reports help us diagnose and fix issues immediately.
- On-Device Processing: All personal data—including your name, calendar events, and reminders—is processed locally on your iPhone. BriefDeck does not have a server and cannot "see" your schedule.
4. Permissions and Libraries
BriefDeck requests access to specific iOS features to provide its core experience.
- Calendar (NSCalendarsFullAccessUsageDescription): Used to display your upcoming schedule. Data remains strictly on-device.
- Location (NSLocationWhenInUseUsageDescription): Used to fetch local weather via Apple WeatherKit. Location is only accessed while the app is in use.
- Reminders (NSRemindersFullAccessUsageDescription): Used to display your tasks. Data remains strictly on-device.
- Notifications: Used to send your daily snapshot at your preferred time.
Third-Party Libraries:
- Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics: Used for anonymous bug reporting and usage trends. These do not collect your name, location, or private content. You can disable these in Settings.
